My smart i-move was purchased new, from smart of Cambridge in December 2005, after an exhaustive search of all the smart dealerships of the UK. Only 70 of this model were ever made for the European market, with a mix of RHD and LHD Models produced. A Coupe version with black tridion, and bay grey panels was released in France only, and forfour i-move’s were released for the Japanese market in 2005.

I attend the regular Devon Smarties Meets on the Last Sunday of each month, as well as attending other National and International events :

Maintenance and Detailing

I no longer have the time to prep the car for competition spec, so am not entering into any more competitions. I still detail the car and it looks fantastic, however for the Brooklands show the prior prep took 14 hours. Then 3 hours when I got to site.

UPDATE : On 21st July 2008, between 11pm and 7am, the i-move was vandalised outside my house, causing damage with a sharp instrument to three of the panels, and a clearcoat surface scratch to the Tridion. I hope that the person who did it, and I know who it was, is really pleased with themselves. I would like them to know, that the damage that they have caused is not repairable as the panels are no longer available.

• Kylie is maintained with a mix of Autoglym, Chemical Guys, Meg's and Smartwax Products.

• All Bodywork is washed with CG Extreme Maxi Suds II Wash, and polished with Autoglym SRP, then Sealed with Autoglym EGP, and Autoglym Lifeshine. A Wax coating of Chemical Guys XXX Hardcore Wax is then applied. Periodically, a top up of XXX is added after a wash. Chemical Guys Anti Static Detailer is used to top off the XXX, reducing Static build-up and adding a slick surface to the Wax Layer.

• Every Spring, all body panels are clayed to remove bonded surface contaminants, and the full Polish/Sealant/Wax layer's re-applied.

• Janspeed Exhaust cleaned with small grade Wire wool and Autosol, SS Valence and Engine Parts are polished with Megs NXT Metal Polysh.

• Alloys are cleaned with Chemical Guys Blue Wheel Cleaner, and polished with Smartwax RimWax.

• Exterior Plastics and tyre walls are dressed with Chemical Guys New Look Gel.

• Interior Plastic Surfaces cleaned with AG Interior Shampoo, Leather Dash and Seats with AG Leather Cleaner and Leather Care Creme.

• Carpets Treated with AG Lifeshine Carpet Protector, and cleaned with the Dyson car tool kit.

• Glass Cleaned with AG Glass Polish and Fast Glass.
