Quake Catcher Network

qc

We are an External USB sensor station for the Quake Catcher project, from the University of California.

The project was originally concieved to use laptop Accelerometers that are found in apple and Lenovo machines. This was later expanded to using external Accelerometers via the USB connection on desktops.

We are using the JW24F8-MOD board from Code-Mercs.com. This was purchased from Germany, and was assembled and installed at the weather station site, using standard seismic installation techniques. The Network software has been installed on the weather server and is now running the BOINC Managed QCN Applications, updating the central server with any significant seismic disturbances.

We are working on getting the data read from the accelerometer to be displayed into Weather Display, and/or our other data display framework using MySQL. This looks to be achievable once the scripts have been written.
