The Sensor Array uses 3 Dallas 18S20+ sensors, one is buried in the soil at 10 cm under the surface, one at ground level and one is located within the Stevenson Screen as an Air Temp Comparison. Soil Composition is free draining, and located under a 9 sq. m turf Lawn. The Section Indicated by the textured area denotes the optimum growing temperature of soil, which has been internationally agreed to be 20 - 25 C. Above 30 C and below 15 C, some seeds will not germinate, or grow as expected.
